We’re thrilled to announce that Durham OnAir will be broadcasting live from the main arena throughout the day! They’ll be spinning the tunes, chatting to visitors, and making sure you don’t miss a moment of the action with regular announcements about what’s happening around the carnival. Make sure you pop by for a wave and maybe even a shout-out on the radio!
Join the Parade – Be Part of the Tradition!
The parade is one of the highlights of our carnival, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Whether you’re a group of friends, a local business, a community group, or a family with a creative idea, this is your chance to shine. Dress up, march along, or bring your dancing shoes – the more, the merrier! Let’s fill our village with colour, music, and smiles as we wind our way through the streets.
How You Can Get Involved – We Need You!
Staindrop Carnival has been a beloved tradition for over 100 years, but it takes a lot of hands to make it happen each year. From setting up stalls and managing road closures to marshalling the parade and running games, every pair of helping hands makes a difference. If you can spare an hour or two on the day – or perhaps even join the committee to help plan future events – we’d love to hear from you. Volunteering is a fantastic way to
meet new people, give back to your community, and be part of something truly special. Visit or website www.staindropcarnival.co.uk or our Facebook page
The Costs of Keeping the Carnival Going – Every Little Bit Helps!
Did you know that running the carnival last year cost a whopping £5,410? Two of the biggest expenses were the road closure and essential insurance. Without these, the carnival simply couldn’t go ahead. That’s why every ticket sold, donation given, and volunteer hour worked truly matters. If you’re able to support the carnival through
donations, sponsorship, or fundraising ideas, we’d be so grateful. Every penny goes back into keeping this much-loved tradition alive for future generations. Thank You for Being Part of Our Story!
